As a leader in Estate and Trust services, Dave brings extensive experience from the world of wealth management, as well as previous experience from working in tech. Dave has in depth experience in planning, banking, and investment management. He works with a team of skilled advisors to support families through difficult transitions, ensuring the assets, as well as the wishes of the family, is preserved.

Dave has worked in the financial industry since 2004, and holds his MBA degree. He is a Certified Financial Planner Professional (CFP®), a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®), a Personal Financial Planner (PFP®), a Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP), and a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI®). Dave collaborates with the Canadian Securities Institute chairing the exam review committee to create examination content assisting in the certification of aspiring new Financial Planners, as well as with Advocis, preparing course textbooks and course material for students preparing to write their financial planning exams. He also works with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), sitting on their global committee for digital assets, helping steer estate practitioners to establish practices that consider digital assets. He joined Scotia Wealth Management, and Scotiatrust in 2018, with now over 15 years in the financial industry.

Previous to his career in financial services, Dave’s work with Microsoft and Dell consisted of supporting large organizations deploy computer hardware and software in production environments, as well as coding in several different programming languages. Today, he is involved in many different emerging blockchain projects including mining and trading cryptocurrencies.
